My Sasquatch Experience

Sasquatch music festival was an amazing time. For one it was great to spend some time with my husband, sister and her boyfriend. I will never forget sharing this weekend with them. Secondly, there were many amazing performances that I'm happy I got to see. I've been reading what critics thought were the "best" of the weekend. The cool thing is that everybody has an experience molded to their musical tastes. Some of my favorites were:

-Mumford and Sons set Saturday afternoon. The crowd got really into it and pretty much everyone was singing along. These guys are one of my favorite bands right now. Love everything about their music.

-Freelance Whales performing Sunday evening. We came their just after we found out that City and Colour canceled, and they were fantastic.

-Vampire Weekend playing the mainstage just as the sun was setting on the gorge.

-Laying in the grass and listening to Massive Attack under a blanket, looking at the night sky and falling asleep.

-Dancing to Passion Pit and watching an inflatable whale bounce over people's heads.

-Sitting on the top of the hill watching all the people jump up and down on the floor during LCD Soundsystem.

-Slow dancing with Josh to She & Him and Camera Obscura

-Spazzy dancing to Dirty Projectors and the dance tent

-The first half an hour of My Morning Jacket before it got freezing

-Seeing all of the current fashion trends. It seems kinda lame to wear native american feather's if you're white. Also the 90s seem to be coming back and holy crap were there a lot of old school basketball jerseys.

-Josh getting his alcohol wristband taking away from him because of the way he was dancing and the guy telling him "you were obviously intoxicated when you came in here" True, we were a little bit but Josh dances like that all of the time.

-Coming back to camp and eating turkey dogs...drinking mimosas in the mornings

These were just a few highlights of the trip. I definitely missed Oliver, showers, and not sharing porta potties with thousands of other people. On the whole though it was an amazing trip (one that this lame blog entry doesn't do justice too) and I would love to go again next year.

  1. haha Josh got his wristband taken away that's pretty funny. All of that sounds amazing. I think slow dancing at the gorge to some amazing music sounds very romantic :) glad you had fun! hope to join you next year!
