Library!

Today I took Oliver to the library to return some overdue books and to select some new reading material. I didn't want to return Baby Beluga because Oliver loved it so much. I guess now I will just have to buy it for him if I see it in a store. On the way to the library he asked if we'd play with toys. I told him there were some toys, but mostly there were going to be a lot of books. Then he goes "Wow books wow! Ok." It was humorous.

He loves going to the library because : a)there are lots of books to read b) there are toys and puzzles for him to play with and c)girls to flirt with

There was already a girl playing with the toys when we got there. Ollie just marched right up and started playing with a puzzle next to her. She kinda just watched him, perched on her little chair. Then she fell down and Ollie was very concerned.

I picked out a Curious George book for him, as well as a thrilling story of felines entitled "I Love Cats." Then I found a board book version of "The 3 Bears" for him as well. I am not really sure if I should go for books that challenge him or stick with fairly simple board books...I guess we'll see!

I overheard an old man talking to one of the librarian ladies saying he's seen too many horrible things in his lifetime to ever be happy again. He said that women have an easier time being happy because they haven't seen as much...that was an interesting comment.

I couldn't find my list of books that I want to read, because I'm terrible at organization. So I just browsed the non-fiction section and picked up a book called The Life of Pi, which is supposed to be a good book. Award winning and all that. We'll see if it gets the coveted Rheanne Stamp of Approval.

Anywho, I love taking Oliver to the library. I think I will make it a weekly occurrence.

  2. I know right? It kind of offended me. I think both men and women have to deal with a lot. And your right, birthing babies is not an easy task!

  3. How old was this man? Like WW2y old? Cause he might have seen some pretty horrible stuff and in his years it was the men who went off to war, I mean he can only speak from his own experience right?

  4. Yeah, I'm not denying that he's seen horrible things, I don't know the guy. I just don't like sexist blanket statements. You know, like Snuggie commercials. There were probably some women who saw some horrible things in WWII also.

  5. But yes typically men went to war, but think of all the poor wives and mothers who lost men that they love.
