My First Pregnancy

Here's a video to get you in the mood. It's funny, if you don't take it too seriously :)

Just a random day in Spring of 2007 :)

A few hours before I found out (it was my sister's birthday)

Josh, a few hours before he found out

First glimpse of "the baby."

Barely Pregnant (about 2 months pregnant)

Prego Tennis at the Dudley Reunion (4 months pregnant)

Prego Golf at the Dudley Reunion

Prego Camping at 5 months

Probably the hottest couple ever, the belly doubles as a coke shelf

Big Belly (8.5 months)

These are just some pictures from my pregnancy with Oliver that amuse me. I have yet to create a folder of prego pics. I have 56 gigs of photos in my external hard drive alone. I could probably delete some of them...

Meh.

Some things:

1)Face, you should not be breaking out. You're 27, face. It's time to grow up. You can no longer blame it on your raging teenage hormones. Just stop. It was once attractive, surely, in some cultures. But now it's just unsightly and pretty embarrassing. I am a a mature adult now, and I can't have you belittling my age. Stop it face, I insist. Let's masquerade as an adult. Bring on the wrinkles.

2)I am thirsty and there's nothing to drink, up in her. Yay, Josh just brought me moneys! And payday is tomorrow! Hooray for not being broke. There is red wine in the fridge...hmmm.

3)There is literally no point to this here blog entry. Just stop reading now. I am grasping at straws. It was a boring day. I think the highlight was my 15 minute break in which I walked around target and fantasized about what I would buy if I had money. FYI, Shia Lebouf "IS MONEY" according to GQ magazine.

4)However, tomorrow should be much better because it is an Ollie day. What's on the agenda? Probably making forts in our pajamas, drinking chocolate milk, playing cars for hours on end and possibly a trip to a park or the zoo. And we're gonna have art time together and I'm hoping that I too can make art during this time! Also I want to make a city out of blocks and be godzilla.

5) I like food.

So I can't wait...

SASQUATCH!

Camera Obscura, one of my new favorites :)

My Morning Jacket, should be intense

She & Him (all the better if Jenny Lewis is there in her weird mom pants)

City and Colour

The Hold Steady

Freelance Whales, Josh and I saw them play the Knitting Factory and they were great

Also: The Low Anthem, Laura Marling, They Might Be Giants, Passion Pit, The Heavy, Tegan and Sara, Nada Surf...and many bands that I don't know very well but I'm excited to hear.

Enough geeking out, I'm just very excited. Those who know me will know that I absolutely love music. I love going to shows, love listening to it in my car, love attempting to play songs. It's a bit of an obsession. To me there isn't much better than going to see a band that you love and singing along. For financial reasons this isn't something I do very often anymore. I am grateful that I saw so many shows when I was younger and had less financial obligations.

Added bonus, Josh might unveil some new dance moves. That's always entertaining!

Library!

Today I took Oliver to the library to return some overdue books and to select some new reading material. I didn't want to return Baby Beluga because Oliver loved it so much. I guess now I will just have to buy it for him if I see it in a store. On the way to the library he asked if we'd play with toys. I told him there were some toys, but mostly there were going to be a lot of books. Then he goes "Wow books wow! Ok." It was humorous.

He loves going to the library because : a)there are lots of books to read b) there are toys and puzzles for him to play with and c)girls to flirt with

There was already a girl playing with the toys when we got there. Ollie just marched right up and started playing with a puzzle next to her. She kinda just watched him, perched on her little chair. Then she fell down and Ollie was very concerned.

I picked out a Curious George book for him, as well as a thrilling story of felines entitled "I Love Cats." Then I found a board book version of "The 3 Bears" for him as well. I am not really sure if I should go for books that challenge him or stick with fairly simple board books...I guess we'll see!

I overheard an old man talking to one of the librarian ladies saying he's seen too many horrible things in his lifetime to ever be happy again. He said that women have an easier time being happy because they haven't seen as much...that was an interesting comment.

I couldn't find my list of books that I want to read, because I'm terrible at organization. So I just browsed the non-fiction section and picked up a book called The Life of Pi, which is supposed to be a good book. Award winning and all that. We'll see if it gets the coveted Rheanne Stamp of Approval.

Anywho, I love taking Oliver to the library. I think I will make it a weekly occurrence.

I Heart Greenbelt

Yesterday we went for a walk with some friends. It was beautiful out and it was a great opportunity for Oliver and his friends to burn some energy! Melissa had the awesome idea of going to the greenbelt. I was just going to be lazy and walk around our neighborhood.

One of my favorite things about Boise is the greenbelt. How lucky are we that we can walk/bike/skateboard/fruit boot along the river for miles on end? True, you probably should avoid it at night. It's just such a great way to go for a walk without having to worry about cars. There's a little bit of nature and usually at least a few interesting characters to meet.

Anyway we had fun skipping rocks, looking at ducks, making bad jokes, etc.

Mmmm Greetings

It is a gorgeous day today. I highly recommend if you are in the Boise area, that you step outside and absorb some Vitamin D. Ollie and I blew bubbles and felt the earth beneath our feet. Then we put flowers in our hair. We are hippies, don't tell Josh.

This is my introductory blog posting. I haven't kept a blog in awhile, and it's going to take a bit to work out the bugs. Bear with me...or is it bare with me? Either be a bear or be bare with me. I kept one while I lived in Athens with my aunt and uncle for four months, mostly to let people know back home what life over there was like for me. I sort of kept one on myspace, but I don't really count it since I wrote so irregularly. This one is gonna be kinda different because I don't have a completely foreign land influencing my writing. Blog topic ideas are welcome! But most likely I will be all over the place with what I write about. And I'm not sure anyone will read it anyway sooooo...I just have to entertain myself!

I hope you're all having a lovely Monday and making the most of the only March 15, 2010 ever in existence.
